If you ask us how long the perfect stay in Cabo is, we’d say, “As long as possible!”
But since we can’t all lounge in paradise forever, we looked into the ideal vacation itinerary and found that you can actually have an amazing trip with just 4 days and 3 nights in Cabo.
This length of time will offer you plenty of opportunity for leisure while giving you great value for your money as you explore and unwind in Los Cabos.
Here’s an example of a perfect 4-day itinerary in Cabo.
Day 1: Arrival and Winding Down
Upon arrival at the airport — be it the Los Cabos International Airport or the Cabo San Lucas International Airport — you can head straight to your luxury Cabo villa or resort. Some rental villas in Cabo can even arrange welcome margaritas for you!
Take the time to settle in and wind down in your accommodations. In the afternoon, you can explore a local beach featuring Cabo’s stunning sunset. If you’re in Cabo San Lucas, spa resorts like Solmar Resort and Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach have dazzling vistas of the Pacific Ocean. In San Jose del Cabo, a restaurant called Sunset Monalisa is known for its overlooking view of the ocean plus the famous El Arco (Rock Arch).
You can also opt to take a sunset cruise to El Arco itself, which allows you to take lots of Instagram-worthy photos with this unique landmark. If you’re lucky, you might even catch sightings of humpback whales!
In the evening, choose one of the numerous local restaurants for dinner. Both cities in Los Cabos are packed with authentic Mexican cuisine, and today is a perfect day to sample them!
Cap off your first night with cocktails at one of Cabo’s lively bars.
Day 2: Fun in the Water
Make your second day in Cabo all about the ocean. There are water activities for all ages and preferences.
If you love a good adrenaline rush, watersports equipment rentals are practically everywhere in Los Cabos. Go beyond surfing and wave running, and try the incredible adventure of flyboarding!
Are you into fishing? The Baja Peninsula is also known for its sportfishing charters, rife with marlins, tuna, and snappers.
If you’re more into observing nature, there are plenty of Cabo tours for witnessing its rich marine life. From glass-bottom boats and snorkeling trips, to scuba diving and whale expeditions, you’ll love the aquatic explorations here.
And if you’re in Cabo just for utter relaxation, there’s always a seaside palapa (gazebo) waiting for you. Take your sunbathing to Medano Beach if you’re up for some people-watching as well.
At sundown, the beaches of Los Cabos become the ultimate party strip. With your brand-new tan, go club-hopping, making sure to drop by hotspots like El Squid Roe and Cabo Wabo Cantina. If you’re feeling more adventurous, join a Cabo pub crawl!
Day 3: Inland Adventures
Los Cabos also has plenty of inland attractions to offer. Today, put on your walking shoes and explore the region’s historic and natural wonders.
Start with a stroll in San Jose del Cabo’s historic downtown, where Mexican history and art collide. You can watch live performances of artists and squeeze in some souvenir shopping as well.
Then, in the afternoon, explore the ruggedly beautiful desert landscape of Cabo via an ATV excursion. Some ATV tours in this region include a lunch and even mezcal or tequila tasting at an eco-farm — check with your agent for stops like these.
Finally, after the day’s adventures, head back to your villa and indulge in some in-house spa pampering. This is your last evening in Cabo, so there’s no better time to get the thorough R&R you deserve.
Day 4: Savor the Morning
On your last morning in Cabo, enjoy an early al fresco breakfast to savor the sunshine, ocean breeze, and the sound of waves. You can lounge for the last time as your concierge prepares your transport back to the airport.
What do you think of this itinerary? Four days in Cabo are enough to make a fantastic vacation, but if you have an opportunity to stay longer in Los Cabos, we highly recommend going for it!
